Welcome to the Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (ASE) administered by League Football Education (LFE).


A bit about us

League Football Education was formed by the Football League and the Professional Footballers’ Association to manage the Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence framework for Football League Clubs in England and Wales. The primary objective of LFE is to promote and enhance educational and vocational training for Apprentices aged 16 to 18.

Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (ASE)

LFE manage the educational programme for Apprentices at Football League clubs over a two-year period. During this period, all Apprentices will join the Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (ASE) which provides a co-ordinated and streamlined approach to the delivery of education.

Mission Statement

Our mission statement seeks to position the organisation both now and as it may progress over the next 3 years. Whilst the Apprentice will be central to all activity LFE has a role to ensure that the education provision benefits sport as well as the Apprentice.

Our Mission statement is:

"The provision of quality education, training and development for the benefit of both individual Apprentices and sport as a whole."
